Vince Wasik
Chief
Executive Officer
Vincent A. Wasik was appointed as Velocity Express Chairman of the Board in August 2001 and was further
appointed President and Chief Executive Officer in July 2003. Mr. Wasik is also the Co-Founder and a Principal of MCG Global.
With MCG Global and previously as President of Fidelco Capital Group, Mr. Wasik has been the sponsor of numerous private equity
and leveraged buyout transactions. Mr. Wasik has served as Chairman and CEO of National Car Rental System, Inc.,
after leading the $1.6 billion leveraged buyout from Household International in 1986. As Vice President of Wesray Corp.,
he participated in a number of transactions such as Gibson Greeting Cards, RCA Mobile Communications and Avis Car Rental.
Prior to Wesray he strategically positioned Holland America Line as one of the industry's leading upscale cruise lines,
serving as the company's President and CEO. In addition, he has been Executive Vice President and a Board Member of the Hertz Corporation.
Mr. Wasik is also an Advisory Board Member of Mitchell's/Richards, the largest upscale clothing retailer in Connecticut.
Mr. Wasik holds both a Bachelor of Arts (Cum Laude) and a Masters of Business Administration degree from Michigan State University.
He has served as a Captain in the U.S. Army, receiving the Army Commendation Medal for outstanding achievements.
In addition, he has been awarded the Chicago Tribune Silver Award for Leadership.
Jeff Hendrickson President and Chief Operating Officer
Mr. Hendrickson joined the company in December
2003. Mr. Hendrickson has more than 30 years of experience as a senior
executive and chief operating officer. He is results-oriented, with
a career record of success involving major corporate and privately
held transportation, logistics and highly competitive consumer service
businesses. Prior to joining Velocity Express, Mr. Hendrickson was
Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and President of Sport & Health Company. A privately held
company headquartered in McLean, Virginia, S & H is one of the
top ten largest health and athlectic club operators in the United States.
He has also served in a senior executive capacity for such organizations
as Brinks, Inc., National Car Rental System, Inc., Chase Manhattan
Corporation, and Hertz Corporation.
Edward W. Stone
Chief
Financial Officer
Mr. Stone joins Velocity with nearly
30 years of experience as a corporate financial executive. His prior
CFO assignments include Solucient, a leading supplier of information
to the healthcare industry, where from 2001 to 2003 he helped integrate
four predecessor companies and fund the product and service improvements
that allowed the company to resume profitable sales growth. Since 2003,
Mr. Stone has been active providing CFO consulting services to mid-sized
and early-stage companies in the software, information and manufacturing
industries. From 1998 to 2000, Stone was CFO for Executone Information
Systems, Inc. (formerly NASDAQ: XTON) and Acting CEO for Executone's
Healthcare Systems division. From 1995 to 1998, he served as Vice President,
Finance for a $2 billion group within The Thomson Corporation, and
from 1993 to 1995, Mr. Stone was Chief Financial & Administrative
Officer for Krueger International, a leading manufacturer of office
furniture. Previously, Mr. Stone was employed from 1988 to 1993 by
the Searle Pharmaceuticals subsidiary of The Monsanto Company. He joined
Searle as Corporate Controller and was promoted to Vice President,
Finance with responsibility for Searle's controllership, treasury,
tax and information technology operations. He began his career with
Pfizer, Inc. in 1976, where he spent seven years in a variety of increasingly
responsible positions, including the last three and a half years as
Controller for Pfizer's Roerig Division.
Alex Paluch
Chief
Information Officer
Mr. Paluch has served as Chief Information Officer for Velocity Express since June 2007.
Prior to the appointment of this position, Alexander Paluch was Head of the Technology Committee and a Velocity Board Member.
Paluch is a General Partner of East River Ventures LP, a series of venture capital and private equity funds.
Mr. Paluch brings more than 20 years of Information Technology and Healthcare company operations, investment and
advisory experience as a management consultant, executive and investor. As General Partner in a series of Private
Equity and Venture Capital Partnerships, Mr. Paluch has co-founded and managed numerous international investment
and consulting funds targeted at companies in the United States and Europe.
Currently, Mr. Paluch serves as Chairman of the Board of HLI, a leading healthcare software company
and as a member of the boards of Touchstone, a healthcare services company, iLife Systems, a medical device company,
and Equities (EQUI), and as Chairman of the Technology and Compensation Committees of Velocity Express.
Drew Kronick
Executive
Vice President, Business Development and Supply Chain Solutions
Mr. Kronick joined Velocity Express in
November 2001. His responsibilities include national sales and logistics,
including sales support and marketing. Mr. Kronick has a comprehensive
background in the same day logistics industry having recently served
as President of Veredex Logistics and as a co-founder of deliverEnow.com.
Mr. Kronick was a founding member of CD&L, where he served as Corporate
Vice President of Sales and Marketing.
Kay Perry-Durbin
Executive
Vice President, Workforce Resources
Ms. Perry-Durbin joined Velocity Express
in February 2000. As Vice President, Workforce Resources, Ms. Perry-Durbin has strategic
responsibility for all aspects of Velocity workforce management, including
human resources, employee relations, employee payroll, driver qualification,
independent contractor relations, and enforcement of related risk management
practices. Ms. Perry-Durbin's 16 years in human resources management includes design,
development, and implementation of recruiting, compensation, and training
programs. Her experience also includes labor relations and employment
law in the energy, manufacturing and retail sales industries with Shell
Oil, Amoco and Fleetwood. Other experience includes insurance liability
defense with the Houston law firm of Hirsch, Glover, Robinson & Sheiness.
Prior to entering the human resources management field, Ms. Perry-Durbin served
as adjunct professor at the University of Houston teaching legal research
and investigative methods. Ms. Perry-Durbin holds a BA
from West Texas A&M, an MBA from Houston Baptist University, a
certification from Southwestern Paralegal Institute, and the SPHR designation
from the Society for Human Resources Management.
Mark T. Carlesimo
General
Counsel
Mr.
Carlesimo served as Vice President - General Counsel and Secretary
of CD&L since September 1997. From July 1983 until September
1997, Mr. Carlesimo served as Vice President of Legal Affairs of Cunard
Line Limited. Earlier in his career, Mr. Carlesimo served as Staff
Counsel to Seatrain Lines, Inc., a cargo shipping company and was engaged
in the private practice of law. Mr. Carlesimo received a B.A. in
Economics from Fordham University in 1975 and received his law degree
from Fordham University School of Law in 1979. Mr. Carlesimo is
a Member of the Bar of the states of New York and New Jersey.
